Solar Calendar

The Solar calendar is the most recent of the three calendars, and was inspired by the Agricultural and Lunar Calendars. It is also the most popular calendar in use on a global scale.

This calendar is simply devised:

  • 10 months to a year
  • 5 weeks to a month
  • 8 days to a week

The Agricultural calendar fits nicely into an exact 2.5 solar months to each season, and both it and the Solar begin with Spring.
The Lunar calendar fits roughly 1.3 cycles per solar month. The Black Moon’s irregularity is unrecognized in this system, with only a small footnote on the last four days of the year written with the cycles it appeared between.
